The 25-year-old Ochoa, a switch-hitting infielder, was batting .318 with six home runs, 32 runs batted in, 20 stolen bases and 54 runs scored in 84 games for the Grizzlies this season.

Ochoa is in his second season with the Giants organization after spending his first seven seasons with the Cleveland Indians system.

The Giants opened a roster spot for Ochoa by sending infielder Travis Denker to Single-A San Jose. Denker was batting .243 in 24 games with a homer and three runs batted in.
