NCAA Basketball Betting Lines

03/11/2010 - Indianapolis, IN (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Manny Harris scored a team-high 22 points and pulled down nine rebounds as he led the Michigan Wolverines to a 59-52 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes in the opening game of the 2010 Big Ten Conference Tournament at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Also scoring in double figures for eighth-seeded Michigan (15-16) was DeShawn Sims who dropped in 14 points off the bench.

The ninth-seeded Hawkeyes (10-22) were paced by Cully Payne who delivered a game-high 25 points, while Aaron Fuller contributed a double-double consisting of 10 points and a game-high 13 rebounds in the setback.

Iowa was limited to a total of just nine field goals in the first half, shooting a mere 3-of-11 behind the three-point line, en route to a 32-23 deficit at the break.

In the second half it was Michigan that had trouble finding the mark with just 9-of-25 shooting, not to mention 2-of-10 out on the perimeter, but the squad still played well enough to hold on for the seven-point win as it led from start to finish.

The difference in the game took place at the free-throw line where Michigan outscored the Hawkeyes by a 15-3 margin.

The Wolverines will now face off against top-seeded Ohio State in the quarterfinals on Friday afternoon.

The Spartans, meanwhile, have won seven of the last nine match-ups against Notre Dame and are coming off an impressive 38-23 victory over Pittsburgh.

Out west, 22nd-ranked Arizona State will be battling for their first victory over 21st-ranked California since 2000. Although the Golden Bears are listed as 7.5-point favorites, the Sun Devils are 3-0, lead the nation in sacks with 18 and possess the Pac-10's leading passer in sophomore quarterback Rudy Carpenter.
